5 sessions from Mon 10 Jul 2023 [Show]
WEEK 2> 10-14 July
Join us for a summer immersed in a wide range of explorative art and crafts activities!
The daily activities are shown at the bottom of this page.
We hope to get outside into our beautiful grounds to explore as often as possible.
The club is for children aged 5-12 years and will run from 9am – 3.30pm
(drop off from 9am-9.30am, playground pick up 3.30pm sharp)
Children will need to bring their own packed lunch (and sunhat/sunscreen/raincoat if needed).
The club costs £30 per day, this includes the provision of a wide range of art materials, refreshments, and snack.
Please select the days that you wish to book, and for how many, then proceed to fill in your children’s details.
Please note that we are not a registered childcare provider, and we do not have additional support beyond our Artists and Creative Playworkers.
The club is made up of a series of creative art activity workshops. If your child does not enjoy art, or a busy environment, please look to book them into a more suitable workshop. We want all of our children to get the most from their art club workshops, in a safe and happy environment.
FREE PLACES -
There are 4 free places available each day for families with low income, such as those in receipt of Universal Credit. If this applies to you, and would benefit your family, please add your preferred dates to your basket and proceed to fill in the child's details.
We suggest to make use of one or two days per child and limit this to 5 days per child over the 4 weeks, so that other families also have the opportunity to benefit from the sessions. Any additional bookings will be removed.
These few places are much needed, so please be considerate when booking so that these can be shared amongst other children too.
*We reserve the right to enquire which benefit you are in receipt of.
Mon 10 - Tues 11 July: Paper Art with Illustrator Gilli B
Monday 10th July - Zentangle Art
We will start the day looking inside and outside the art room for simple shapes to draw and learn how to turn these shapes into cool line patterns. We will learn how to use these patterns along with your name, a word or an image to produce a funky piece of zentangle art.
Tuesday 11th July - Bas-Relief Style Cardboard Self Portraits.
We will begin the day with a drawing game to create faces inspired by Pablo Picasso. Then we will experiment using cardboard bas-relief techniques, and art materials to create fun and colourful self-portraits.
Wed 12, Thurs 13, Fri 14 July: Mixed Media Art Play with Jess Warby
Wednesday 12 - Food themed Drawing, collage, and collaborative drawing.
We will use our favourite food as a theme for our fun drawing and collage activities. Through this process, we will design and create some small pieces of our own.
To finish the day, we will collectively transform our unique designs into a large-scale collaborative drawing.
Thursday 13 - Memory comics
Through exploring different comic books and the signature diary comic style of the Artist, we can gain inspiration into creating our own! We will learn to narrate one of our favourite memories with drawings and typography, exploring different coloured papers and graphic materials to execute our comic zine to take home.
Friday 14 - Felt Banner Friday
In this session we will create a fun and playful banner! We'll use drawing and paper collage to explore a topic that means a lot to us. With our own idea, we will make a unique banner with felt, fabric and glue that looks great hanging up in our homes.
